Have you hugged a trucker this week? If not, you may want to, or at least shake a trucker’s hand. September 13 – 19 is National Trucker Appreciation Week, so thank a trucker for everything he or she does to keep this country moving every day.

Since American Trucking Associations (ATA) started National Trucker Appreciation Week in 1988, shippers, carriers and other trucking-related companies have built bigger celebrations each year to thank truck drivers for their commitment to the job. Using everything from cookouts to bonuses, the trucking industry has shown its gratitude to the men and women who make up the trucking workforce, who sacrifice time at home to support the nation’s supply chain year round.

Now, ATA is encouraging consumers to join them in showing gratitude for the dedication truckers show delivering goods across the nation. Watch for ATA’s “Trucking Moves America Forward” campaign in newspapers in major cities across the country.
